Julie Caves is a contemporary artist working in North East London.
Julie began her art studies in California, studied art in Spain, received a BFA in Studio Art (Sculpture and Printmaking) in Texas, and an MA in Bookarts from Camberwell College of Arts in London.
She has participated in exhibitions in the US, Spain, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Norway and the UK. She has artists' books and original prints in a number of public collections including the Tate Britain Gallery Special Collection.
Her paintings are in numerous private collections.
Julie Caves’ work celebrates beauty and its many juxtapositions: work and play, nature and synthesis, life and death, macro and micro, Heaven and Hell. She is constantly walking the tightrope between polarities. She is also keenly interested in capturing the luminous quality of colour.
